Tuesday Trivia: Have at it

I give up. I am too busy. It’s almost not Tuesday anymore and I just haven’t got time to put together a quiz.

You may play free-for-all. You know the rules. I’ll start.

This actress is a nerd’s dream: She’s been in a Bond movie, made love on the Enterprise, and co-starred in a major superhero movie. Name her.

  1. Ben says:

That would be Famke “Jean Grey” Janssen.

    Next question.
He killed his family, a bunch of times, and eventually washed up on an island. In between went by the name “Howard Hughes.”

  2. George says:

Oops, gotta read for comments first, i gues. I promise it said no comments when i started trying to figure it out.

  3. George says:

Terry O’Quinn. The original “Stepfather” is a terrific movie, btw.

  4. George says:

This actress had minor appearances in some great 1950s musicals, a major appearance in young men’s dreams in the 1960s thanks to a TV role, and then ended up part of a movie title.

  5. Roberta Lipp says:

Okay, I gotta go to sleep, and I’m pretty sure I got it, so I’m posting. This actor blah blah blah… A rabbit lover, a blind guy, and famously himself.

  6. George says:

Yes, of course you were right. And I’m right, too, for answer 7 is being John Malkovich.

  7. George says:

This over-the-top comedy comes to a surprising conclusion when a very recognizable if unbilled guest star (most famous for his work decades before this film) shows up as the heroine’s old boyfriend, thereby saving her from a sure-to-be horrible marriage.

  8. George says:

Well, I’m signing off. I might not get to check again until after 10 am PDT, so if you want to play around me, go ahead.

  9. Deborah Lipp says:

    I’m sure I haven’t seen that one.

  10. George says:

My meeting got canceled. Need clues?

The unbilled guest star is most famous for his work as part of a group. The guy he saves from the bad marriage went on to much greater fame on TV as half of one of television’s most beloved pairs. The woman would years later be portrayed in a movie of her life by an actress most famous for her role in a tv show about a radio station.

  11. Deborah Lipp says:

That’s got to be Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter? I don’t have all the particulars, but Loni Anderson of WKRP played Jayne Mansfield, and the “beloved pair” has got to be the Odd Couple, giving us Tony Randall.

  12. Ken says:

Well crap….. I’m thinking “The woman would years later be portrayed in a movie of her life by an actress most famous for her role in a tv show about a radio station.” would be Thelma Todd, as played by Loni Anderson, but I don’t have the time to track it any further back right now. Maybe someone else can do something with it.

  13. George says:

Deborah got it. The surprise at the end is that Jayne Mansfield’s hometown boyfriend is played by Groucho Marx.

  14. Deborah Lipp says:

I was just thinking of this movie today, because a Bond theme cover song is on the soundtrack. The lead female character is a radio dj who is playing all 80s music in honor of a local event.

  15. George says:

Grosse Point Blank and Minnie Driver plays the DJ who is playing 80s music in honor of the high school reunion.

  16. Deborah Lipp says:

Yep, and the Bond theme cover is Live and Let Die.

  17. George says:

    “Liverwurst!”

  18. Ken says:

I dunno, but it made me scream Burma!
