  1. Melville says:

Is #4 the Matrix trilogy (the actresses who played The Oracle)?

  2. Roberta says:

I got nothing. And I feel like I’ve at least heard #6.

  3. Evn says:

    Wait, never mind, I’m wrong.

  4. Melville says:

Is #7 The Notorious Bette Page?

  5. Steve H. says:

    #2 is Scooby-Doo, isn’t it?

  6. Roberta says:

If Steve H is right, then I’m guessing the theme is either Buffy or Whedon.

  7. deblipp says:

Roberta, you’ve got it, but getting the tie-ins would be nice. 🙂

  8. Melville says:

    Tie-ins to the Whedonverse:

Scooby-Doo is, obviously, Sarah Michelle Gellar.
The Matrix films is Gina Torres, who played Jasmine on Season 4 of Angel.
Don’t know the connection for The Notorious Bette Page.

  9. Roberta says:

Know what’s funny? I wasn’t even thinking of Sarah Michelle, I was just thinking of the Scoobies!

  10. deblipp says:

    Roberta: Ha!

Mel: Torres was also a star of Firefly. Are you NOT a Browncoat? For shame!

I’ll publish the remaining connections after everything is solved and everyone has had a chance to go for it.

  11. Melville says:

Mel: Torres was also a star of Firefly. Are you NOT a Browncoat? For shame!

    Ouch! Them’s fightin’ words! 🙂

When I hear “Whedonverse,” I tend to think BtVS and Angel, since they exist in a joined fictional world. I think of Firefly in it’s own world.

  12. Tom Hilton says:

I think Sarah Paulson must be the Bettie Page tie-in (she played the hologram in Serenity).

  13. Evn says:

Oooh, oooh! #3 is American Pie, starring Teh Hannigan.

  14. deblipp says:

There are two Bettie Page tie-ins, Tom, and Paulson is not as good as the other one.

  15. treecat says:

Isn’t #1 Waitress? I don’t ever get any of these.

  16. Tom Hilton says:

Well sure, there’s Jonathan Woodward too. I just didn’t want to go with the really obvious one. 😉

  17. deblipp says:

    treecat, you got this one!

Tom, sure I totally believe that.

  18. Steve H. says:

#6 is Imagine Me & You, with Anthony Head (Rupert Giles, Buffy). I didn’t get that totally on my own, of course, but I waited until nobody else came up with it, and even then it took a little crafty searching.

  19. deblipp says:

Crafty searching is allowed, especially this late in the game.

  21. Roberta says:

Looks like I am the worst fan ever, because I have not seen a one of these films.

  22. Evn says:

I can’t believe how stumped we all are…

  23. Melville says:

Oh, you’re sneaky! I was trying (and failing) to think of a movie where Laurence Fishburne or Keanu Reeves played a one-legged veteran. But the “movie referenced in this quiz” isn’t one of the correct answers: It’s the other movie directed by the director of The Notorious Bettie Page, Mary Harron, the “story of a serial killer,” American Psycho, starring Christian Bale. Which makes the answer to #5 3:10 To Yuma, which features Firefly’s Alan Tudyk.

  24. deblipp says:

    Melville, BRILLIANT!
