Upcoming media appearances (these are all for James Bond):

I’ll keep you posted.

Oh, for Amy, Casino Royale spoilers below the fold:

What specifically was Le Chiffre’s organization demanding Vesper’s cooperation with? Was she just supposed to be his eyes and ears around Bond, or was there something really specific that I’ve now missed twice — other than the tell and not letting Bond buy back in?

ANSWER FROM DEBORAH:
Two things: First, as you say, preventing Bond from winning. Second, she had been a double-agent inside the British government for some time. This was just part of it. (Helps if you’ve read the book.)

Can you answer a “Casino Royale” question for me?

Damn, Amy, I’m frequently wishing you’d allow comments on your site. Most recently so I could kick your ass about Angel.

    But anyway.

    SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS.

I am editing Amy’s comments and hiding them and my answers below the fold. Don’t click “more” if you don’t want Casino Royale spoilers.

Ah. That helps. How long was she a double agent for? What other uses did LC have for her? What happened to her boyfriend in the end, anyway? Did she actually love Bond, and if so, in what way?

Heh, about the “Angel” thing…that post was pretty much penance for liking the show (or, at a bare minimum, really enjoying the second season) even though I usually (80% or so of the time) believe that it’s just about the worst thing ever. For example, Cordy’s ascension at the end of the third season. Maybe it was just the corny visual, but still…there’s no excuse for that.

I personally think that Angel was Joss’s greatest work. Firefly would have been better, but it was cut short. The whole elevator into hell thing, Darla “giving birth,” not to mention Wee Little Puppet Man, stand for me as the best television episodes of any kind I’ve ever seen.

As to Casino Royale, we’ve been left some dangling threads for the next movie. They’re already dropping hints in the media.
