Blogging will be light…

between now and election day. I’m on the phone.

Tell you what, if you’re considering volunteering, just try one call and see how easy and convenient it is. So easy. And it makes a difference. This is too important and you know it.

I can’t vote tuesday(because I live in another country)but I wish you all the luck in the world in getting rid of the bunch that have been encouraging Bush.It might help remind the moron remember that he was elected to govern the U.S. not anointed to rule the world.

I started to sign up.. I wonder how people respond though. Are they irritated? I was just discussing this with some friends who got the W recording recently. They were not pleased.

Good for you! 2008 can not come soon enough.

    I don’t know what the W recording is…

You speak to about 25% of the people you call. Some are aggravated and hang up. Many are already committed Democrats; these are pre-screened calls. (The calling I was doing in previous weeks was to create a list of Dems to call.) Some say they’ll vote Dem but don’t really know much of anything; don’t even know the candidate’s names.

MoveOn called me to encourage me, and they said there’s a 55% increase in voting if a voter receives a call on election day; it’s 35% the day before election day, and lower before that, but it has a meaasurable affect.

So I guess the thing is to go with the statistics.

I had some people very annoyed because they’d gotten lots of calls. I think if you’re in a swing district you’re being heavily targeted by both sides. Nonetheless, I think it’s worthwhile.

I think I’ll just stop answering my phone for the next two days…. for some reason my cordless phones, which are the ones with the caller ID display, have stopped ringing and displaying although they answer and place calls just fine, so I can’t screen with them. I got three political calls over the weekend….. bastards.

But not you – it looks great on you…. (tugs necktie).
