In the universe of weird search terms

Today, someone found my blog by typing “nancy pelosi has her menstrual period.”

Okay, not only is that freaky, but hello? Speaker Pelosi turned 67 last week. Ain’t no way that search term has been true lately.

That is kind of weird and creepy.

Today I got a visitor who searched for slut + deborah. These search hits have gotten a whole lot more interesting since you started posting at IIRTZ. 😉

    Glad I could help, Tom.

The phrases people search for at times can be frighteningly amusing. Last autum, I experimented with starting each month with a post listing the strangest and most amusing search phrases from the previous month, often including my own comments on the phrases. After about three months, I stopped making these posts (and actually privatized the ones I had already made) because I realized the posts were generating even more bizarre search engine hits.

I’ve just posted some of March’s strangest searches that landed on my site in “Web searchers: Your Questions Answered” at http://mjr.towers.org.uk/blog/2007/index#searchstats

I think my favourite was “What to do about death?”

Jarred, I’m aware of that, which is why I very rarely post them.

    MJ–umm…get better?
